Meet Chantel Vincent – The Woman Behind Freyja

Hi, I’m Chantel Vincent, the owner of Freyja, and I’ve been running this little Canadian boutique for 18 years. It’s been a journey full of growth, challenges, and, of course, incredible moments that have made this business so special.

When I first opened Freyja, I had no idea how much it would become a part of my life—and my community. Over the years, I’ve learned that running a business is no joke. As a mom of a son in rep hockey, balancing family, business, and fun has taught me how to be the ultimate multitasker. And let’s not forget my side gig DJing weddings and events with my girlfriends—that’s my way of letting loose and having fun, but believe me, it keeps me on my toes!

One thing I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is the importance of being adaptable. No two days are ever the same, and you can’t predict everything. You have to be flexible and ready to roll with the punches to keep moving forward.

My favourite part of owning Freyja? Hands down, it’s opening new stock. There’s just something about the excitement of seeing fresh, beautiful pieces arrive—it never gets old. But more importantly, it’s the opportunity to connect with my customers. Helping someone feel confident in a great new outfit, ready for their next adventure—whatever that may be—is what makes it all worth it. There’s truly nothing like seeing that spark of confidence a great outfit can bring.
